Edited 12/11/18 to add: Here is a review that discusses the fat representation in the book at length, and describes much of what I took issue with in the excerpt I read, in terms of the language of the book and the way the text itself was written in a way that was full of hate for fat people. It also gives detailed content warnings for the book. My original review is here/5.
